About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team. As a Payroll Officer, you will play a critical role in processing the fortnightly payroll in a timely and efficient manner.

You will be responsible for daily communication with payroll stakeholders, managing workflow to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions, reconciling payroll prior to transmission, and validating confirmed reports.

Additionally, you will analyze and process timesheets for multiple locations, understand taxation of employer-paid benefits and PAYG, manage new starters and terminations, and generate fortnightly and monthly financial reporting.

We are looking for a proactive individual with strong attention to detail and people skills. You will be solutions-focused and enjoy problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily communication with payroll stakeholders
  • Manage workflow to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission
  • Validate confirmed reports
  • Analyze and process timesheets for multiple locations
  • Understand taxation of employer-paid benefits and PAYG
  • Manage new starters and terminations
  • Generate fortnightly and monthly financial reporting
Requirements
  • Previous experience in payroll processing
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, awards, and ability to interpret EBAs
  • Proficiency with SAP preferred, not essential
  • Intermediate experience in Excel and ability to generate financial reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
  • High level of professionalism, dealing with sensitive, confidential documents and personal information
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to uphold compliance standards
