  • Job Overview:

This role is focused on proactive inspections of public assets for safety and increased lifespan.

The successful applicant will have relevant experience in a similar role, be certified from a recognised Playground Inspector course, and hold a full Victorian licence.

They will also be a go-getter that can work alone while keeping their direct report up-to-date with their actions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactive inspections of public assets for safety and increased lifespan.
  • Routine inspections for the purpose of fault identification and maintenance program development.
  • Some repairs of playgrounds, sport fields, irrigation systems, street furniture and open space programs.
  • Delivering inspections and associated works across the shire.
  • Office time for data entry and reporting, then ordering and/or fixing identified issues.
  • Being part of a small, dynamic team, there are also myriad day-to-day challenges to help keep the wheel of the bigger Parks and Gardens team turning.
  • Developing the role as needed.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Reporting directly to Manager's Name.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Certified from a recognised Playground Inspector course.
  • Full Victorian licence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Results-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data entry and reporting software.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of local government operations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • First aid qualification.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Remuneration begins at $74K to $77.2K (Band 4) plus superannuation.
