About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Visual Effects Technical Supervisor to join our team at DNEG.

This is a key role in our VFX build department, responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the technical aspects of our work. The successful candidate will have extensive high-end feature film VFX experience and a proven technical knowledge of all aspects of the VFX pipeline.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing standardised department workflows, tools, and processes
  • Ensuring the right tools, technology, and workflows are in place to deliver the highest quality work efficiently
  • Providing technical leadership, support, and feedback to Department Supervisors and Artists
  • Communicating with Heads of Departments, CG Build Supervisors, Production Technology, Workflow Architects, and other departments across sites

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, able to provide technical advice and support to artists, and adapt to new technologies and techniques.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Extensive high-end feature film VFX experience
  • A proven technical knowledge of all aspects of the VFX pipeline
  • Broad range of build-discipline knowledge with experience in modelling, texturing, and look development
  • Extensive experience using 3D software - ideally Maya, Houdini, Mari, ZBrush, Nuke, & Substance Designer/Painter
  • Extensive experience with rendering in Clarisse & Renderman
  • Experience managing tool development in a production-focused environment
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the natural world (geology, geography, and meteorology) and architecture (design and engineering)
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people including third-party suppliers

Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
