Transport Allocator Job Overview

The key objective of the Transport Allocator is to effectively coordinate and manage bituminous product delivery logistics, focusing on efficient resource utilisation while prioritising safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and plan all bituminous product deliveries with precision and effectiveness.
  • Develop strong working relationships with drivers, stakeholders, and team members to promote trust and enhance performance.
  • Manage a fleet with best practice safety and compliance in mind.
  • Allocate and assign driver runs using an internal database to meet business requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, internal stakeholders, and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Provide regular reporting to managers on resource availability and requirements.
  • Investigate and report on any safety and compliance incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support the administrative team to ensure all relevant paperwork is compliant.

Requirements for this role include proven experience coordinating and scheduling fleet operations, proficient computer skills, and working knowledge of key regulations such as CoR, NHVR, Speed Compliance, Load Restraint & Dangerous Goods. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent organisational and time management skills, flexibility to work different hours, and a willingness to adapt to change quickly.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in coordinating and scheduling fleet operations.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of key regulations such as CoR, NHVR, Speed Compliance, Load Restraint & Dangerous Goods.
