Job Title: Welfare Support Coordinator

About the Role:

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The role of the Welfare Support Coordinator is to strengthen the capacity of labour sending unit welfare staff to implement activities promoting worker wellbeing, family, and community support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Coordinate and implement activities strengthening LSU welfare teams' capacity to deliver welfare support, including case management.">
  • Maintain an active community of practice among LSU welfare teams for peer learning, knowledge exchange, and continuous improvement.">
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for LSU welfare staff to enhance their capacity to support workers and families and engage with specialist referral agencies.">
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and case management tools.">
  • Support LSU teams in adopting and applying SOPs and referral processes, providing guidance and resources.">
  • Collaborate with other PLMSP teams to integrate welfare considerations into broader program activities.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience in a relevant discipline, such as social work, human services, or social sciences.">
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in case management, with background or experience in migrant settlement, family support programs, or services being an advantage.">
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of case management frameworks and referral pathways.">
  • Possession of a strong practice and professional judgement framework, including highly developed risk assessment and intervention planning skills.">
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills, including ability to work across a broader team and with external stakeholders.">
  • Highly developed organisational skills, agility, and ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks and work well under pressure.">
