About the Role

Our organization seeks a seasoned Health and Safety Specialist to spearhead health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across various construction projects.

This critical position ensures that best practice safety standards are embedded from project planning through to completion.

You will oversee site-based safety performance across complex construction activities, including open-trench and trenchless pipelining techniques, large diameter water and wastewater pipelines, pump station and reservoir construction, and collaboration with local businesses and employees.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to project teams and contractors to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Foster compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and client expectations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement project-specific health and safety management plans to mitigate risks.
  • Support the delivery of a positive safety culture, ensuring every worker returns home safely.

Your Background:

  • Proven experience in a Senior Safety role within large-scale civil, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and contemporary safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement.
