Senior Biology Teacher Position

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organising, implementing and delivering high-quality instructional programs within a secondary learning environment. This position also involves leading a designated Care Group.

We are seeking an experienced Science teacher with a proven track record in education, a true passion for the Sciences, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Restorative Practices and the principles of Lutheran education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality instructional programs in Biology, Stage 1 & 2 including Middle Years Science.
  • Lead a designated Care Group.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Mentor and support colleagues to improve teaching practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Current SA Teacher Registration.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Certificate. RRHAN-EC.
  • Applied First Aid – in an Education environment.
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience teaching Science (Stage 1 & 2), with experience in Biology well regarded.
  • Motivation and a passion to work with and support young people on their journey through secondary education.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability and desire to actively support the values and ethos of a Christian school.
