Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with families, communities, and other stakeholders to promote the safety, well-being, and resilience of Aboriginal children and young people.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the complexities of Aboriginal child protection and a proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, community members, and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant qualification or experience working in the field of Aboriginal child protection, as well as a valid driver's licence and a paid working with children clearance number.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with families, communities, and other stakeholders to develop and implement plans to ensure the safety and well-being of Aboriginal children and young people.
  • Conduct assessments and investigations to identify risks and provide recommendations for intervention.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, community members, and other stakeholders to build trust and foster collaboration.
  • Provide advice and support to families, communities, and other stakeholders on matters related to Aboriginal child protection.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification or experience working in the field of Aboriginal child protection.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Paid working with children clearance number.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
