We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Operations Manager to lead the finance function for a local subsidiary during a period of organisation change and growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting under both Australian and US GAAP standards, providing steady finance leadership to the team and partnering with the business using their extensive global knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in compliance with both Australian and US GAAP reporting requirements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the finance team.

• Financial Control: Manage all aspects of financial control, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary finance liaison between the subsidiary and the global finance team. Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making.

• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of financial operations.

Qualifications:

• Must be amenable to work in Brisbane

• Holding CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualifications backed by 7-10 years of corporate finance experience

Top candidates will demonstrate exposure to:

• Big 4 training and experience

• Success in roles within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or other life sciences innovation markets

• Proven experience in managing finance functions across manufacturing, import, sales, and distribution operations as a subsidiary on a multi-national growth business

• Exposure to R&D accounting, inventory management, and revenue recognition specific to the biotechnology industry or a similar fast growth technology field

• Leadership Skills with demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

• Proven track record in managing financial operations during periods of change and growth, with a focus on scalability and process improvement
