Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Consultant to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia. This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP, providing support for the Department's educational outcomes by developing initiatives and technical support strategies.


The Role


In this role, you will offer strategic advice and input into the development and implementation of key policies and standards that align with the Department's ICT functions and strategic direction. You will undertake comprehensive research to address emerging ICT trends, offer solutions to complex issues, and manage cross-group projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet departmental guidelines.


Key Responsibilities




  • Develop and implement ICT strategies and policies that align with the Department's goals and objectives
  • Undertake research and analysis to identify emerging ICT trends and opportunities
  • Provide strategic advice to the ICT Executive Management team on operational matters
  • Manage cross-group projects and ensure they are completed on time and meet departmental guidelines
  • Prepare briefings, reports, and other key documentation


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:




  • Highly developed research, conceptual, analytical and risk management skills
  • Extensive experience in preparing correspondence, reports, Ministerials, briefing notes and policy
  • A high-level understanding of, and sensitivity to, the strategic requirements and direction of the Government
  • High-level skills and experience in reviewing, interpreting and reporting on relevant information found in briefings, correspondence, policy, guidelines and other information sources
