Aged Care Wound Specialist Opportunity

Discover a career where you can make a positive impact in the lives of older people. As an experienced Wound Specialist, you will play a key role in our aged care team, providing expert clinical leadership and guidance to healthcare professionals, older people, and their families.

  • You will be responsible for implementing contemporary evidence-based wound care policies and practices across our residential aged care, home care, and independent living services.
  • Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and families, fostering a culture of compassionate care and dignity.
  • You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our senior palliative care lead and broader practice development and quality governance team to support our teams and clients.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced degree qualifications in nursing, preferably with a master's degree or higher, and have endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner by the NMBA and registration with AHPRA. Demonstrated experience in wound and pressure injury prevention (PIP) is essential, as well as advanced wholistic clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Additional requirements include:

  • Demonstrated NP generalist experience in aged care, with a focus on wound care.
  • Scope of Practice that includes wounds, pressure area care, and continence.
  • Proven leadership and commercial experience in a clinical setting, with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Confidence in using telehealth and other digital solutions to provide remote support and advice.
  • Ability to travel to sites across metro and regional NSW & SE QLD.
