Aviation Safety Professional

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Professional to join our team in supporting the Australian CH-47F Chinook System Safety program. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and managing risks to ensure the CH-47 Chinook Helicopters remain safe, reliable, and mission-ready for the Australian Defence Force.

  • You will work closely with the CHMU System Safety Manager to manage and assure the Chinook system safety program.
  • Maintain and analyze records and provide reports on Material Safety compliance performance.
  • Assess and document risk within a MIL-STD-882 based System Safety program.
  • Verify, validate, and document risk reduction measures.
  • Provide WHS input on hazardous materials management to CHMU staff.
  • Support interfaces with the US Army System Safety Program as necessary.
About the Role

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Essential skills and qualifications including experience in technical management of hazardous materials.
  • Experience in engineering and logistics sustainment of a materiel system comparable in complexity to the CH-47F Chinook Platform.
  • Demonstrable communication skills within an integrated workforce and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable ability to organize workload, establish priorities, and meet deadlines in a team-based environment.
  • A minimum of Baseline security clearance.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of DASR Safety Management Systems, demonstrable system-level awareness of the CH-47 Chinook Platform, and knowledge of ISO 31000 Risk Management Standards.
