Mechanical Project Coordinator

Transforming steel into smart products and solutions requires a unique blend of technical expertise and project management skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Asset Development team at the Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Project Coordinator.

As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting and managing a diverse portfolio of Mechanical Fabrication and Fitting related projects.

  • Developing project specifications, scope of work, and engaging with internal and external resources to deliver high-quality results.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing project documentation, including drawings, manuals, data sheets, and part lists to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Providing technical advice and support during commissioning and post-commissioning phases to ensure smooth handover.
  • Supervising maintenance and installation activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

For this role, we are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in site supervision and industrial project management.

You will bring:

  • A fabrication or mechanical fitting background, preferably with a trade qualification, diploma, or degree.
  • Experience with interpreting structural fabrication drawings and welding processes.
  • Excellent influencing and leadership skills to motivate peers and colleagues.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, particularly in plant process and equipment reliability improvement.
  • Familiarity with document control and reporting processes.
