Financial Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Manager to join our team. This key role will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations and providing valuable insights to support business growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Accountant, regional leadership, and global finance teams to ensure financial rigor, compliance, and actionable insights that directly impact project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting processes and month-end close activities, ensuring accurate reconciliations, AP/AR, general ledger entries, and financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management, and working capital planning.
  • Coordinate the monthly payroll process: liaise with payroll vendors, validate calculations, and oversee leave management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations, and coordinate with external auditors and tax agents.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA Australia (or equivalent) qualification is required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in finance roles with a mix of external audit and commercial finance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements.
  • Practical experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ability to translate financial data into practical recommendations and communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a small team environment.
