Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Workshop Mechanic to join our team at Signature Campers. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in the mechanical fit-out, assembly, and final preparation of premium off-road campers and caravans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical assembly of new off-road campers and caravans, including suspension, braking systems, drawbars, wheels, and underbody components.
  • Fabricate and install towing systems, couplings, hitches, and jockey wheels.
  • Install and connect 12V electrical components (basic wiring, lights, plugs) and assist electricians as required.
  • Carry out plumbing installations for water tanks, pumps, taps, and fittings.
  • Assemble and install internal and external fixtures, kitchens, awnings, and accessories.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure all mechanical and assembly work meets high standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with WHS requirements.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, auto mechanics, or trailer/caravan building.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, suspension setups, and trailer/caravan components.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with 12V electrical systems and basic wiring.
  • Knowledge of caravan compliance standards and regulations.
  • Forklift licence or relevant trade qualifications.
