Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Field Service Fitters to service and maintain Caterpillar open-cut mining equipment for our valued customers across the Bowen Basin.

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering quality service, following established procedures, and ensuring the highest standard of workmanship.

About the Role:

As a Field Service Fitter, you will be working on even time rosters in Mackay. You will be required to diagnose, repair, and maintain large and ultra-class CAT Mining equipment.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Delivering quality service by carrying out maintenance and repairs to the highest standard
  • FOLLOWING THE RIGHT PROCEDURES by researching and consulting the correct and latest service information systems
  • Ensuring quality in the finished product and avoiding rework by taking every step to ensure workmanship is fault-free
  • Working to schedule by completing assigned tasks within required timeframes while maintaining safety and quality
  • Keeping customers informed by involving them in major repair decisions and providing clear updates on job progress
  • SUPPORTING GENUINE PARTS SALES by promoting and advising on the use of genuine Caterpillar parts to maximise performance and reliability
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant Trade qualifications and demonstrated service and repair experience on Caterpillar mining equipment
  • Site based mining roles will require current coal board medical and a Std 11 Qualification or the ability to acquire via HDAL
  • 3-5 years' post-trade experience on mining equipment
  • Well-developed communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and as a team as required
  • Demonstrated and proven ability with desktop computers and devices
  • Experience on Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET Vims, SIMSi and SIS)
  • Commitment to a high level of workplace health and safety
  • Your ability to work under pressure during peak periods is essential
