Medical Instrumentation Coordinator

About the Role:

This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of loan equipment in a busy Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). The successful applicant will coordinate with supply representatives and theatre staff to meet hospital requirements, guaranteeing that all necessary loan instrumentation and prostheses are properly sterilised and ready for use when needed.

In this role, you will be working closely with the team to ensure compliance at all times with overall patient safety through quality reusable medical equipment through sterilisation and disinfection per HICMR standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate loan equipment check-in and check-out processes
  • Collaborate with supply representatives and theatre staff to meet hospital needs
  • Ensure loan instrumentation and prostheses are correctly sterilised and available for use
  • Maintain quality reusable medical equipment through sterilisation and disinfection
  • Comply with Australian Standards relevant to sterilisation and national policies
Requirements:
  • Certificate 3 Sterilisation Services Certificate or Equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in sterilisation
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, leadership, and well-developed communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
