Compliance Specialist Role

We are seeking a seasoned compliance expert to oversee regulatory affairs covering liquor, sundries, and foods. The successful candidate will assess and review imported and domestic products against relevant regulations.

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure effective regulatory services and compliance activities.
  • Provide high-level information, technical advice, and recommendations to inform decision-making by buyers and management.
  • Evaluate products for compliance with Australian and New Zealand requirements.
  • Determine import requirements for various food items and manage packaging and labeling approvals.
  • Develop artwork and labels, as well as manage repackaging activities.
  • Work with external testing laboratories to ensure Australian standards are met.
  • Oversee services provided by external compliance review providers.
  • Generate new company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate product testing and schedules.
  • Manage the code of conduct audit program and vendor assurance program.
  • Develop plans to prevent and respond to product recalls.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of the Australian and New Zealand regulatory landscape and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a regulatory, compliance, or quality assurance position.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
