About the Role

Hudson Australia is seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our Federal Government Technology, Projects & Transformation team.

The successful candidate will design and implement modern, cloud-based architectures for a medium-sized Commonwealth Agency, leveraging data, analytics, and AI to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and document solutions for a data lakehouse on Snowflake, incorporating Alation for data governance and integrating with Power BI and Workato.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security teams to ensure optimal build and integration of the data layer.
  • Monitor costs and performance, optimizing designs for cost efficiency and performance.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud and data technologies, applying best practices to future-proof designs.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud and/or lakehouse design in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong experience with cloud data warehousing (Snowflake).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Familiarity with data management tools (Alation) and integration platforms (Workato).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of security principles in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of Australian Government ICT Security policies or equivalent industry best practices.
