Workplace Relations, Employment Opportunities

Mills Oakley is seeking a seasoned Associate or Senior Associate to join its Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of post-admission experience in employment law practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and procedures;
  • Providing expert advice on complex industrial relations and enterprise bargaining negotiations;
  • Offering strategic counsel on workplace issues such as performance management, grievances, and terminations;
  • Interpreting legislation including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and associated regulations;
  • Leading and supporting litigation matters involving unfair dismissal, general protections, and contractual disputes;
  • Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and graduates within the team.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks;
  • Experience acting in all major courts;
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills;
  • Able to work closely with clients and team members;
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
