Venue Operations Director

The Brightside is a renowned live music venue seeking an experienced and passionate Venue Manager to lead its operations. As a key member of the team, you will oversee the day-to-day running of one of Brisbane's most iconic independent live music venues.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the guest experience and operations at a venue that hosts hundreds of shows and thousands of punters each year.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily operations across indoor and outdoor spaces
- Oversee rosters and wage costs in line with budgets and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with Queensland liquor and licensing laws
- Drive service standards, guest experience, and venue presentation
- Work closely with our bookings team and external promoters, agents, and bands to deliver seamless live shows
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team
- Monitor financial and operational KPIs, including stock, COGs, and labour %
- 3–5 years' experience in a senior hospitality leadership role, ideally in high-volume bars or live music venues
- Strong operational and financial management skills
- Knowledge of RSA, licensing, and WHS compliance in Queensland
- Ability to thrive under pressure and make smart, strategic decisions as well as being solutions-based
- Skilled communicator who can inspire teams and build great relationships with industry partners
