Employment Support Professional

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. As an Employment Support Professional, you will play a vital part in empowering participants to achieve their employment goals.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide personalized support to participants in various employment-related activities, including on-the-job training, work skills development, and resume preparation. You will work closely with Employment Coordinators to develop and implement tailored support plans that cater to each participant's needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to participants in employment-related activities
  • Assisting participants with on-the-job training and building capacity around work skills
  • Exploring employment options and assisting participants in preparing for work life
  • Supporting participants with travel training, including navigating public transport
  • Helping participants with resume and cover letter writing and practicing for mock interviews
  • Assisting in exploring and securing volunteering opportunities as a pathway to employment
  • Collaborating with the Employment Coordinator to develop and implement personalized support plans for each participant
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous relevant experience, preferably in supporting individuals with disabilities or in an employment services environment
  • A valid driver's license
  • A Working with Children Check
  • An NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities
