Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at Komatsu Australia. As a Trades Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform or assist with component repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Learn component disassembly and assembly on-the-job, developing your skills and expertise
  • Generate professional technical/service reports to document your work
  • Develop basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel to support your role
  • Accurately input time sheets daily to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Be punctual for start, finish, and breaks, maintaining a safe and productive work environment
  • Follow job scope and critical path for tasks, ensuring timely completion
  • Support production with yard work and dispatch duties, contributing to the team's success
  • Assist with various workshop activities as needed, demonstrating your adaptability and willingness to learn
  • Engage in and promote Kaizen and quality control activities, driving continuous improvement

Working Conditions

This role is based in Gladstone, with a Monday to Friday roster. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to develop your skills and advance your career.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Trades Assistant is highly regarded, but not essential
  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and a can-do mindset
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service and work in a team environment
  • Strong commitment to safety and a C classification driver's license
  • Forklift license is desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of computer systems and Microsoft Office
