Assistive Technology Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to work in their passion area of Assistive Technology. As an Assistive Technology Assessor, you will work with NDIS participants in Sydney Hubs and surrounding areas.
Your EverydayNo two days will be the same in this role. You will work in diverse settings, from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres. You will utilize an evidence-based measurement tool and your skills in assessment to create targeted therapy plans to improve quality of life and to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding using Assistive Technology.
You will collaborate with NDIS participants, their supports, and Assistive Technology suppliers to assess, trial and prescribe Assistive Technology solutions to support people towards their goals. You will also provide capacity building support for participants to embed Assistive Technology and Home Modifications into their daily routines and habits.
You will work within an interdisciplinary team of passionate and dedicated allied health professionals to ensure that recommended Assistive Technology is embedded within a person's everyday environment and routine. You will build meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports, as well as key suppliers and stakeholders in the community.
You will attend weekly team meetings in the Hub, sharing stories of impact, coffee, and laughs. You will tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Assistive Technology Therapy Mentor.
