We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our Ecology & Biodiversity team in Brisbane. As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to continue your growth and contribute to delivering excellent results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide high-quality service and advice in your area of expertise to clients and colleagues, both in office-based and fieldwork activities.
  2. Participate in field survey programs to collect various ecological data.
  3. Interpret and apply environmental legislation to projects across different sectors.
  4. Develop technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs and implications for environmental impact assessment and management.
  5. Assist in preparing tenders and proposals.
  6. Mentor junior staff and lead field trips.
  7. Integrate your technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams.
  8. Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions, and decisions, and prepare reports outlining the findings.
  9. Travel to remote areas to conduct field survey programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  2. 5-6+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government, including undertaking ecological surveys and report production.
  3. Experience in designing and implementing flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programs.
  4. Excellent flora and/or fauna identification skills.
  5. Mature report writing and computer skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality written material for publication.
  6. Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  7. Proven project management experience in relation to client management and budget control.
