Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity

This role involves working in the initial stages of geotechnical projects, focusing on data collection, analysis, and reporting.

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will develop an understanding of procedures related to ground stability, ground monitoring/control, and mine infrastructure. You will undertake underground and open pit geotechnical field work tasks, including core logging, sample collection and preparation, quality control and assurance measures, and documentation of rock mass behaviors.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting geotechnical data collection and analysis for ground support and stope design criteria.
  • Documenting the behaviors of rock masses, along with quality control and quality assurance measures.
  • Following up on Rock Noise reports and communicating promptly.
  • Conducting Monthly Ground Support Audits and providing methods for addressing key concerns.
  • Ensuring that all geotechnical-related data and information are methodically archived and stored.
  • Measuring and visually assessing the stability of key pillars in the mine.
  • Contributing to the numerical model for underground workings to support mining activities.
About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Bachelor of Engineering or Science graduate with a Geotechnical specialisation to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills, as well as the ability to learn appropriate mining software packages and tools.
