About the Position
We are seeking a Casual Coal Quality Tester to join our team in the Physical Testing Laboratory at our Mackay site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions.
- Ensuring that all work complies with National and International standards.
- Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances.
- Entering validated results into the reporting system.
- Maintaining the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards.
- Making recommendations on ways of improving the efficiency and accuracy of sample analysis.
Requirements
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Prior experience in a coal testing environment is desirable but not necessary.
- Good grasp of computers/technology including spreadsheets.
- Comfortable with manual handling duties.
- Ability to work to a flexible roster.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Competent within a strong safety culture.
Selection Process
