Cultivation Team Lead

The Greenhouse Cultivation Team Lead plays a crucial role in supporting the cultivation lead grower by supervising the day-to-day operations in the greenhouse, focusing on the maintenance and growth of high-quality cannabis plants. This hands-on role requires a passion for plants, strong leadership abilities, and a solid understanding of horticulture and cultivation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 8-10 team members within greenhouse growing chambers, focusing on daily plant care tasks such as deleafing, trimming, and other plant maintenance.
  • Perform general plant maintenance tasks, including tipping, deleafing, canopy management, and assisting with harvesting.
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and bio-secure environment within the greenhouse.
  • Monitor plant growth, health, and performance, and assist in identifying and addressing any issues.
  • Operate essential greenhouse equipment safely and effectively.
  • Propagate and tend to cuttings as needed and handle tasks like potting and repotting.
  • Collaborate closely with the cultivation lead grower and assist in implementing cultivation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production horticulture, with commercial medicinal cannabis production experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and one of: French, German, Spanish, or Taiwanese will be strongly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and bio-secure environment.
  • Physical capability to handle heavy lifting (up to 20kg) as required.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and follow directions with close attention to detail.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
