Job Profile

The key objective of the Afternoon Operations Manager is to oversee the daily operations of a recycling centre. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting pre-shift machine checks and reporting faults and damages on all plant.
  • Collaborating with site managers to review daily operational requirements.
  • Operating heavy machinery in a waste collection/disposal environment, including front end loaders, excavators, and waste handlers.
  • Establishing work priorities and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Focusing on waste recycling and landfill diversion practices.
  • Completing relevant documentation in line with position, including timesheets.
  • Coordinating with internal staff to create efficient and safe processes.

Key skills and qualifications required for this role include:

  • Minimum 12 months operating experience on excavators, loaders, and material handlers.
  • Ability to take instruction and coordinate work activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the recycling industry is advantageous.
  • Capacity to work autonomously.
