Reliability Expert Lead

Drive asset performance and lead continuous improvements for Hydro Tasmania's assets.

About the role:

As the Reliability Expert Lead, you will be responsible for leading the reliability function within Production Operations. Deliver practical and commercially responsive solutions that balance stakeholder needs. Ensure proactive and reactive reliability strategies are implemented effectively to ensure asset integrity, availability, and longevity.

  • Provide timely reporting on asset condition and performance data to inform key business decisions.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and ensure findings feed into future maintenance plans.
  • Drive the adoption of reliability best practices and improvement initiatives across teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to uplift the reliability function across the organisation while developing and mentoring a small team of reliability professionals.
  • Deliver reliability solutions that balance technical feasibility, business needs, and stakeholder priorities.

Required Skills:

  • Strong background in asset management, ideally in power generation or large industrial settings.
  • Degree in engineering with at least five years' experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering reliability solutions that improve asset performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
