Asset Financial Expert Wanted

We seek a highly skilled asset financial expert to provide high-level technical and financial support in the implementation of asset management across Council. This role plays a key part in ensuring the effective use of systems and processes to support strategic asset planning, financial reporting, and operational decision-making.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and systems related to capital works and asset revaluations to support delivery of Council's asset management objectives.
  • Perform end-of-year asset financial activities and ensure timely reconciliation of transactions within the Asset Management System.
  • Analyse data across asset and finance systems to support reporting, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with the completion and financial closure of capital works projects, ensuring compliance with internal processes and timelines.
  • Provide system support to users and contribute to asset-related projects and panels.
Requirements
  • A detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong foundation in financial and asset management.
  • Holding an Advanced Diploma or higher in Accounting, Asset Management, or Program Management, you bring relevant experience and a practical understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • A current Driver Licence and Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration are essential for this role.

The ideal candidate has expertise in budget management, financial reporting, job costing, and asset accounting, with the ability to interrogate systems and ensure the accuracy and integrity of asset and financial records.
