Job Summary:

The Senior Concept Artist is a key member of our Visual Effects team, responsible for creating concept art that brings our feature films and television shows to life. As a seasoned artist, you will work closely with our team of artists to develop artwork that meets the specific design or "look" of a show.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual artwork that illustrates various stories and scripts
  • Understand and execute briefs from clients and supervisors
  • Break down complex briefs into individual components with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate a strong eye for color, composition, perspective, and lighting
  • Work on pre-production development work as well as VFX concept art
  • Take ownership and responsibility of a shot or brief, proactively offering options and finding solutions for production problems
  • Liaise with art department leadership to ensure the highest quality of work is delivered
  • Implement changes and incorporate feedback from Art Directors into artwork
  • Organize day-to-day activities and manage time to ensure deadlines are met
  • Participate in dailies and transmissions

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Concept Artist with a strong portfolio and a passion for visual effects. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or significant experience in producing Concept Art for VFX/Feature films
  • Experience or knowledge of cinematic techniques, language, and shot composition
  • A developed "eye" and strong aesthetic
  • The ability to work closely with Art Department leadership and within a production environment
  • Strong understanding of how their work fits into the pipeline and its effect on upstream and downstream departments

Technical Skills:

The successful candidate will have proficiency in design software and the ability to work in both 2D and 3D (e.g. Photoshop, Maya, Blender, Zbrush, 3D-Coat, Keyshot, Octane). They will also be able to assemble research and reference material that will be influential to clients and the design team.
