About the Organisation
The high-performance sporting organisation supports athletes to become world's best. We reach all regions, with an Olympic and Paralympic training facility based at Sydney Olympic Park and high-performance hubs across the country that provide daily training environments for our athletes and coaches.
A national governing body advances, promotes, administers and grows a sport through advocacy and partnerships with government and industry; works to achieve support for programmes and activities for the benefit of the sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sports science support to categorised athletes along the performance pathway from the Australian Team to the State Sailing Pathway Programme.
- Deliver general sport science support across physiology, biomechanics, and performance analysis.
- Collaborate across NSWIS, Australian Sailing, and the wider National Institute Network to ensure consistency in the development of independent, resilient and robust athletes.
- Work with the Physical Preparation Lead to develop and deliver systems within the daily performance environment that will facilitate evidence-based decision making to support individual campaign plans.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in the provision and application of sports science services, with proven experience interacting with high-performance coaches and athletes.
- Proven success in utilising physiological and sport science knowledge for planning, periodising and managing athletes across seasons/campaigns at senior national or international level.
- Experience in operating and managing quality control and quality assurance programmes to meet laboratory compliance standards.
- Proven ability to analyse data, interpret results and produce reports for influencing athletic training programmes.
This role requires collaboration across multiple stakeholders, including NSWIS, Australian Sailing, and other NIN partners.
Working in this role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of an integrated inter-disciplinary team.
