Job Title:

Principal Transmission Lines Engineer

Overview

This role involves leading a team of engineers to optimize asset performance and long-term network resilience. The successful candidate will have experience in transmission lines engineering, design and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Lines team to foster technical excellence and team development
  • Provide strategic advice on asset decisions and long-term planning
  • Develop CAPEX/OPEX work plans and asset strategies aligned with corporate goals
  • Champion innovation to enhance asset resilience and performance
  • Guide risk management, compliance, and regulatory submissions for transmission lines
  • Oversee condition assessments, scope development, and project initiation to maintain safety and reliability
  • Lead the creation and refinement of asset specifications, maintenance strategies, and business cases
Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Structural Engineering
  • Significant years of engineering design/asset management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment and technologies, with a focus on transmission lines and emerging trends and innovations
  • Deep understanding of relevant Australian and International standards and industry codes of practice for transmission lines
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of relevant condition monitoring and assessment techniques for transmission lines
  • Knowledge of transmission line design standards and principles and construction experience
  • Professional body membership: National Engineering Registration
