About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Lead Commissioning Engineer for a landmark metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, and test procedures for all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and railway-specific installations.
    • Coordinate with design, construction, and project management teams to ensure commissioning activities align with the project timeline and goals.
  • System Testing and Verification:
    • Conduct thorough tests on mechanical systems to verify functionality, performance, and compliance with design specifications.
    • Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot issues during system testing, collaborating with engineering teams to implement solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning records, reports, and punch lists to track progress and identify outstanding issues.
    • Review and approve commissioning test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation for handover to operations.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance:
    • Ensure commissioning activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize risk during testing and commissioning.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical system commissioning, with at least 3 years in large-scale buildings, infrastructure, or railway projects.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of mechanical systems relevant to railway infrastructure.
    • Proficiency in using commissioning and project management software.
    • Knowledge of railway safety standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
