About the Role


Laing O'Rourke, a leading international engineering enterprise and privately-owned tier 1 constructor, is seeking an experienced High Voltage Commissioning Manager in Melbourne, VIC. This role presents exceptional career prospects and offers a competitive salary of AU$140,000 - AU$180,000 per annum.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the project adheres to Laing O'Rourke's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System and provide leadership for Behavioural Based Safety initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning, delivery, and integration of Testing, Commissioning, Entry into Service, and Asset Acceptance for all project elements, including civil, electrical, earthing, mechanical, communications, and control systems.
  • Develop and approve related project testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning documentation for each discipline, including vendor-supplied major equipment.
  • Train operations and maintenance teams to ensure operator competence at handover.
  • Verify commissioning resources as competent for tasks undertaken.
  • Prioritize timely completion of commissioning activities according to project milestones.
  • Maintain interface with internal and external stakeholders, including energy regulators, asset operations, and maintenance teams.


About You


To succeed in this role, you will require:



  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred).
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership position involving switchyards and transmission lines.
  • Individual discipline Testing and Commissioning experience in Energy transmission projects.
  • Working on multi-disciplined projects.
