Job Summary:
The role of a Scientific Officer is to perform diagnostic testing and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. Key responsibilities include performing manual and automated testing procedures, maintaining equipment and operating it in accordance with protocols, and participating in quality assurance activities.
About You:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification, with demonstrated experience and knowledge within the respective discipline. Additionally, you should have sound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshooting, as well as excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Performing manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Maintaining equipment and operating it in accordance with protocols
- Participating in quality assurance activities
- Assisting with stock control and records maintenance
- Liaising with internal and/or external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge within the respective discipline
- Sound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshooting
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a busy environment with infrequent supervision. They will be required to maintain current scientific knowledge and participate in training staff.
