Job Title: Data Engineering Lead

Join us as a Data Engineering Lead, and you'll play a key role in shaping our data infrastructure, processes, and analytics culture. You'll be part of a team that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We're looking for a curious and skilled Data Engineer to help us lay the foundation in Sydney or Melbourne Offices. As one of the first dedicated Data Engineers at our company, you'll transform raw data into structured, actionable insights that drive better decisions, improve performance, and enable innovation across the organisation.

  • Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines to transform raw inputs into usable datasets\
  • Consolidate data from internal systems and external APIs, ensuring data quality and integrity\
  • Develop and maintain clean, well-documented data models for analytics and reporting\
  • Support data governance by implementing standards around security, access, and data lineage\
  • Work closely with stakeholders to translate business questions into data projects\
  • Apply statistical models or machine learning to support fraud detection, conversion optimisation, and customer experience improvements\
  • Continuously improve tools and processes to keep pace with business growth and technology trends\
  • Stay on top of emerging data tools and recommend new solutions to increase performance and capability\

        • \Key Skills & Experience\
          • \
          • Proven experience as a Lead Data Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar analytics/engineering position\
          • Strong proficiency in Python or R, and expert-level SQL skills\
          • Hands-on experience with data modelling, ETL, and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)\
          • Experience using BI tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau\
          • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)\
          • Excellent communication skills—you can explain complex findings clearly and concisely\
          • A detail-oriented, curious problem-solving mindset and a passion for continuous learning\
          • Experience working in fintech, payments, or a high-growth SaaS environment will be highly regarded\
