Project Completion Specialist

We transform lives with everything we do. Our purpose is simple – to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.
At John Holland, we've always known that infrastructure is about people — our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we work every day. That's our difference. We have deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Project Completion Specialist to join our team in Beveridge to Albury. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion and handover of construction projects.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating and managing all activities related to the final stages of a project, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and documentation are completed to the highest standards. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that all necessary inspections, tests, and certifications are completed in a timely manner.
You will develop and maintain comprehensive completion plans, track progress, and address any issues or delays that may arise. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Development of asset allocation documentation required as part of the asset transfer process leading into the completions phase.
- Coordinate and manage all activities related to the completion and handover of construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive completion plans, outlining all necessary tasks, inspections, tests, and certifications required for project closeout.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely completion of all project deliverables, including equipment, systems, and documentation.
The Inland Rail project is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries, and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor-wide works. Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges, and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
Salary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including:
- A base salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per annum.
- Ongoing career development and training opportunities.
- A flexible working arrangement to support work-life balance.
- An attractive superannuation scheme.
- A variety of leave options, including annual leave, sick leave, and parental leave.
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of project completion processes and requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to project completion and handover.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
