Job Title: Emotional Intelligence Engineer

">Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Emotional Intelligence Engineer to lead the development of emotion metrics from multimodal wearables and sensors. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, validating, and productizing emotion metrics that meet our high standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop Emotion Metrics: Design and develop scientifically-defensible emotion metrics using neuroscience constructs, weighting schemes, and testable formulas.
  • Implement and Validate Emotion Score Models: Implement and validate Emotion Score models for mood trajectories and early-warning signals.
  • Packaged Validated Metrics: Package validated metrics into production artefacts, define CI/CD for model training and deployment, and define telemetry/monitoring for model & data drift.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: PhD (preferred) or MSc in Affective Computing, Computational Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Statistics, or Applied ML with significant relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise with PPG sensors and time-series signal processing. Production ML skills: Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, XGBoost, containerisation, model versioning, and CI/CD basics.
  • Experience: Proven experience designing and executing controlled experiments with physiological ground truth and strong statistical skills. Experience writing SAPs, HREC/HRA/IRB submissions, and working with clinical partners.
