We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive innovation and commercialisation in the MedTech industry. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and closing business deals related to research partnerships and IP commercialisation.

About the Role

This is a permanent opportunity based at the UNSW Sydney campus, offering a competitive salary package including 17% superannuation and a range of benefits.

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing business strategies to drive innovation and commercialisation in the MedTech industry;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external partners, researchers, and academics;
  • Delivering training and capability development programs to academic researchers;
  • Focusing on expanding the UNSW industry network and supporting commercialisation pathways such as spinouts and licensing.

You will have a significant track record in developing and closing MedTech R&D related business deals, including research partnerships and IP commercialisation across medical devices, diagnostics, medical AI, health data, or digital health.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving innovation and commercialisation in the MedTech industry;
  • Developing and implementing business strategies to achieve key revenue targets;
  • Maintaining key relationships across the Enterprise Legal, Founders, Research Division, External Relations Division, Philanthropy Division, and Faculty Executives;
  • Working closely with the New Venture Team to support spinout opportunities and facilitate university medical initiatives.
