About the Role

This is a 12-month temporary assignment for a Procurement Specialist to join a busy team at a leading Federal government agency. The agency supports Australians in achieving their goals and helps them live a better life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage procurement activities to ensure compliance with prescribed policy and procedures.
  • Prepare documentation, approval briefs, and business cases for procurement, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Review requirements and business cases to determine appropriate procurement methods and drive procurement activities working with the NDIA team and suppliers.
  • Advise on the business case for alternative sourcing models and ensure procurement is driven in compliance with the prescribed policy and procedures.
  • Prepare procurement briefs and updates for SDP & OCIO leadership as required.
About You
  • You will have 4 to 6 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the Digital and ICT Investment Oversight Framework (IOF) and experience working with DTA & BuyICT.
  • You will demonstrate successful management of vendor relationships, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • You will have negotiation skills and contract management experience, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze vendor performance.
  • You will have a proven commitment to developing staff capability and fostering a positive culture aligned to corporate values.
What We Offer
  • A competitive daily rate of $602.55, plus super.
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Deakin – ACT location, with hybrid working from home options.
