Primary Health Care Professional

The role of a Primary Health Care Professional at our organization is to provide evidence-based and culturally appropriate primary health care services to clients. The position contributes to the development and sustained operation of a multidisciplinary primary health care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical care in a cross-cultural setting to clients in collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and clinical support to other team members.
  • Deliver services that respect and honor clients as central decision-makers in their healthcare.
  • Complete community, home care, aged care, and school educational visits as required.
  • Maintain professional practice protocols.
  • Liaise with regional agencies, clinics, hospitals, and other staff to ensure clients have access to relevant services and programs.
  • Encourage client/family/community engagement in practices conducive to optimizing health.

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree / Vocationally Registered General Practitioner (VRGP).
  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Current Criminal History Check.
  • Working with Children Clearance.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in general practice.
  • Previous experience in working in a cross-cultural service environment, particularly in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healthcare.
  • Ideally have Accreditation as a GP Registrar Supervisor.
