Accounts Receivable / Credit Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process and reconcile daily customer payments to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
  • Regularly review debtor accounts and flag potential credit risks to mitigate losses.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding invoices while maintaining strong relationships with customers.
  • Manage credit applications, conduct reference checks, and set up new customer accounts following credit approval.
  • Evaluate credit limits and make recommendations to optimize business performance.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries and manage a shared collections inbox to provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and adhere to strict data protection protocols.
  • Collaborate with sales account managers to provide actionable customer activity reports and drive business growth.
  • Contribute to the improvement of systems and streamlining credit processes to enhance operational efficiency.

About You:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role with a proven track record of success.
  • Familiarity with Pronto ERP software and its application in credit control processes.
  • Solid knowledge of customer account processes and credit control principles to effectively manage debtor accounts.
  • Certificate IV in Accounting (or equivalent qualification) is highly regarded but not essential.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience compiling reports and interpreting financial data to inform business decisions.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle high-pressure situations.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and solutions-focused approach to challenges.
