We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a key member of our HR team, you will provide strategic support to managers across various business units, driving HR best practice and leading complex HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level strategic support to managers, leveraging your extensive HR experience to drive HR best practice and lead complex HR initiatives.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with our organizational goals, driving continuous improvement and positive workplace cultures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex cases, influencing and coaching to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Lead change management advice and support, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives, operational and strategic workforce planning, and performance development.
  • Manage complex HR issues, including grievances, underperformance, and unsatisfactory performance, and develop initiatives to improve workplace culture.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in HR or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a HR partnering role, preferably within the public sector or large, complex organizations.
  • Strategic HR experience, including experience developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop strong partnering relationships with all levels of management to influence, coach, and become a trusted advisor.
  • Change management and organizational design experience, with a people-centric approach to complex case management.
  • Effective communication, with the ability to present on a range of HR topics to promote and support workforce strategies.
  • A collaborative style, with a demonstrable understanding of legislative requirements and employee and industrial relations.
  • HR systems experience, with the ability to research and analyze information to make recommendations.
