Job Role: Renal Outpatients Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Northern Health on a part-time basis.

This role requires a therapist with experience in community or subacute settings who is passionate about delivering person-centred care.

About the Job:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for completing pre home dialysis assessments for both peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis, as well as providing occupational therapy intervention to support patients to maintain their preferred dialysis modality.
  • This role works closely with the allied health teams, nursing staff, nephrologists, and chronic kidney disease educators.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Key Qualifications and Skills:
  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Fully registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Eligible for membership with OT Australia
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence
  • A current National Police Check and Working with Children Check VIC
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated experience or willingness to learn about chronic health conditions
  • Sound working knowledge of community services
  • A commitment to lifelong learning
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
