Job Title: Strategic ICT Category Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Strategic ICT Category Manager to join our team. As a key member of the procurement team, you will act as a business partner between Procurement and various business areas related to ICT spend categories.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing strategic category management for ICT categories to identify and maximize procurement efficiencies, value generation, and market insights. This will involve contributing to the development and management of the annual and 5-year procurement strategic opportunities plan for ICT categories.

You will collaborate with the Sourcing Delivery and Contract teams to optimize procurement sourcing, contract management, and performance. Additionally, you will optimize the supply base through strategies like aggregation, consolidation, bundling, and rationalization, developing category plans and vendor strategies that address business needs and ensure value for money.

Supporting education, awareness, and training initiatives related to Procurement and Category Management strategies within the organization is also an essential part of this role. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in a commercial or public sector environment, with knowledge of public sector procurement and VGPB desirable.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in a commercial or public sector environment
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement and VGPB desirable
  • Experience partnering and delivering ICT categories effectively
  • Degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or Information Technology or equivalent
  • Preferred tertiary qualification in commercial management and MCIPS qualification
