Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Services Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong knowledge of construction methodologies and the interaction between buildability and design.

This is a leadership position that requires delivering high-quality solutions, leading a team of junior engineers, and providing expert advice to clients and site teams.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with at least 6 years' experience in structural or temporary works design. They will be familiar with proprietary systems used in temporary works installations and confident in client-facing roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering and certifying temporary works solutions including formwork, falsework, shoring, scaffolding, and propping systems
  • Acting as a key contact for clients and site teams, providing advice, design solutions, and responsive support
  • Leading and mentoring junior engineers within the team
  • Reviewing internal and external designs with a critical eye and ensuring best practice delivery
  • Supporting project planning, delegation, and workload management within the team
  • Assisting with technical proposals, tenders, and client presentations
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 6+ years' experience in structural or temporary works design, ideally with contractor-facing exposure
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and the interaction between buildability and design
  • Familiarity with proprietary systems used in temporary works installations
  • Confident in client-facing roles and able to represent the business with credibility
  • CPEng (or working towards), and NER/RPEV registration preferred

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction services and a proven track record in temporary works design. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions and leading a team of junior engineers.
