This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Hobart. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting research staff and aquaculture systems in a high-performance working environment.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing, housing, and husbandry of aquatic species needed for all teaching purposes.
  • Managing animal ethics for teaching purposes.
  • Assisting with practical classes and field trips.
  • Compiling, managing, and assisting with all regulatory compliance within aquaculture.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree-level qualification in aquaculture or a relevant field or at least three years' work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage aquatic culture systems and the ability to identify and rectify variances in established protocols.
  • Ability to assist with research experiments, adhere to strict laboratory protocols, problem-solve, provide solutions, and take direction within a complex research environment.
