Purchasing Officer Job Description

Lead the way in procurement excellence

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to oversee the acquisition of goods and services for our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing effective purchasing strategies that align with our business objectives.

  • Purchase goods and services in accordance with established delegations;
  • Execute the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders;
  • Ensure accurate pricing and minimize delays in ordering and payments.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role;
  • Knowledge of products used in hospitals and vendors in the healthcare industry;
  • Experience operating at a management level, including managing financial imperatives and scheduling;
  • Sound customer service skills;
  • An understanding of SAP Materials Management system or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire skills in an ERP software.
